Ex-Louisville G Jones shot twice in leg

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Former Louisville basketball player Chris Jones says he has been shot in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

Jones told The Courier-Journal that he was shot twice in the leg Tuesday night and was in the hospital. He says he will be OK.

According to media reports, Jones was wounded after a fight on a Memphis basketball court. Another man had a head injury.


Small college hoops HOF to induct Meyer

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) Legendary men's basketball coach Don Meyer is being inducted into the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame.

Meyer was one of the winningest coaches in college basketball history. He led his teams into the playoffs 19 times and compiled a 923-324 record during his 38-year career, most of which he spent at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, and at Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota.


Miller's IU deal worth $24M over 7 years

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Archie Miller is cashing in on one of college basketball's top-paying jobs.

The new Indiana coach's seven-year deal is worth $24 million and it could go significantly higher with performance bonuses.


VCU transfer guard Doughty joins Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) Former VCU guard Samir Doughty has signed a financial aid agreement with Auburn.

Auburn announced Doughty's signing on Tuesday. The 6-foot-4, 187-pounder from Philadelphia will have two years of eligibility remaining after redshirting next season.


ECU gives AD Compher 5-year extension

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) East Carolina has given athletic director Jeff Compher a five-year contract extension.

The deal approved by the school's board of trustees and announced Tuesday runs until April 2023.


Eastern Michigan hires Wetherbee as AD

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) Eastern Michigan has hired Scott Wetherbee as its new athletic director.

The school announced the move Tuesday. Wetherbee has been a deputy athletic director at Mississippi State. His official start date has not been announced by EMU.


Man arrested for driving on Mizzou court

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) A 23-year-old man has been arrested after smashing through two gates and driving onto the basketball court at the University of Missouri over the weekend, causing an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Police were called early Sunday after a Volkswagen Passat was driven through a closed gate on the south side of Mizzou Arena. Maj. Brian Weimer says the driver then went through a garage door in the back dock area and damaged several golf carts before heading onto the court, where the tires left skid marks in places.
